Tamil song goes global

Chennai: Urvashi Urvashi, the yesteryear chartbuster song from the monstrous Tamil hit movie, Kadhalan which sent youngsters into frenzy, will now reverberate across the globe.
The foot-tapping, peppy song composed by Oscar-winning musician A.R. Rahman for the 1994 release starring Prabhu Deva in the lead has inspired renowned US rapper William Adams aka will.i.am for his new single titled Birthday which is all set to become an exhilarating, contagious number.
An elated Mozart of Madras who is upbeat about the inventive collaboration posted on both his Twitter and Facebook account, “Excited to creatively partner with Will.i.am to recreate an early popular track of mine in a new flavour.”
Interestingly, Birthday was co-written by Rahman, will.i.am, Cody Wise and Keith Harris. The single track has been produced by the US musician in association with DJ Damien LeRoy. Birthday will be released on the digital retailers on next week.
Craig Gillespie’s Million Dollar Arm which released recently was the last outing of ARM abroad.
