அகப்பட்டுள்ளன அல்லது புழக்கத்தில் உள்ளன என்று
சொல்லப்படுகிறது.
இது உண்மைதான். இதற்குக் காரணம் பழங்காலத்தில்
இங்கு மக்கள் இயற்கை வணக்கம் (nature worshippers)
செய்பவர்களாக இருந்தமைதான்.
விஷ்ணு என்ற சொல் விண் > விண்ணு என்ற தமிழ்ச்
சொல்லின் திரிபு அல்லது திரித்தல் ஆகும்.
விண் > விண்ணு > விஷ்ணு.
நடுவில் ஒரு ஷ் வைத்துச் சொல் அமைந்துள்ளது,
விஷ்ணு மாயோன் என்று தொல்காப்பியத்தில்
குறிக்கப்படுதல் காண்க.
கடல்சார்ந்த இடங்களும் இதில் அடங்கும். கடல்
கொந்தளிப்புகள் மனித உயிர்களை மாய்க்கும் திறம்
வாய்ந்தவை. எனவே, கரியவன் என்ற பொருளுடன்
மாய்ப்பவன் என்ற பொருளையும் மேற்கொள்ள
வேண்டும்.

உணர்ந்தோர் முதலில் மீனவர்களாக
இருந்திருக்கவேண்டும் என்றே தோன்றுகிறது.

for priestly profession to spring up before
people even realised or discovered divinity.
Once discovered, the practice of worshipping
would take time to spread among the given
populace and once sufficiently developed, the
worshippers would look for someone to be
delegated with the job of conducting
the prayers. Those without the means would
not employ priests. Usually the royalties
and upper echelons of society in terms of
means to employ help, would patronise
priestly service providers. Hence Brahmins
come into the picture only in a developed
situation. The ranking of Brahmins would
have been conferred on them only by a
royalty or person or persons in a situation
of power to enforce. Hence no one could
have sprang out with rank out of a deity
which society discovered or realised
after much thought and seeking. A
Brahmana even today is installed as a
priest only after a temple can be built.
A Brahmin is a delegated conductor of
events or ceremonies. No deity issues him
out of its mouth. Neither now nor in the
beginning of time. Professions are the result
of development of human society.
