The undue interest shown by the Prime Minister's Office in facilitating the coal transactions has been focused by the special court in deciding to add Dr Manmohan as an accused in the case.
According to reports in the media, the CBI applied for the matter against Dr Manmohan to be closed (but to proceed with matters against the others ), but the Court summarily rejected the application. The Court did not go into a sort of voir dire to determine the issue, so it has been summarily rejected So whether Dr Manmohan is indeed personally connected to the matter or not, it remains to be determined at later proceedings. CBI cannot do anything now with respect to the matter of Dr Manmohan as it is res judicata .
For the Court, there need only be prima facie evidence.at this stage.. You may find it interesting. Whither the case will go we have to wait and see.
