It was illegal because the parliament did not move a motion to remove her. The then president removed her without a proper motion from the parliament.
Some time ago, the former deputy prime minister was sent to prison for 5 years for an 'unnatural carnal connection offence'. The law enables him to apply to the Head of State, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for a royal pardon. He (the sentenced party) did not apply for it himself but his wife and children did. They signed it. Now lawyers say that the aggrieved party must sign and not the wife and children. That is another legal problem. Let's see how that problem will be tackled by the law.
