விபத்து என்னும் சொல்லைச் சற்று கவனிக்கலாமே!
ஆபத்து, ஆதரவு என்னும் பதங்களை முன்பு முன்கொணர்ந்து உரையாடியுள்ளோம்,
மலையாளத்தில் "என்ன ஆயிற்று?" அல்லது "என்ன நடந்தது" (என்ன ஆயிற்று உனக்கு ? ) என்பதை "எந்து பற்றி?" என்று கேட்பர். இப்படித் தமிழர் உரையாடுவதில்லை. தமிழில் இதை முறையாகச் சொல்வதானால் -"உன்னை எதுவும் பற்றிக்கொண்டுவிட்டதா?" என்றால் அதில் அர்த்தமுண்டு.
அதற்குப் பதிலாக, என்னை என்ன பேய் பிசாசு பற்றிக்கொண்டுவிட்டதென்றா கேட்கிறாய்? என்று திருப்பிக் கேட்கலாம். இயல்பாக நாம் இப்படிக் கேட்கமாட்டோம். பற்றி என்ற சொல்லினை நன்கு கவனித்தால் தமிழ் நாட்டிலும் இத்தகைய சொற்பயன்பாடு இருந்திருக்கக்கூடும்.
எங்கேயும் விழுந்து புண்பட்டுவிட்டல் அதை "விழு பற்றி " எனலாம். விழு பற்று (தல் ), விழுதலாகிய நிகழ்வு (என்னைப்) பற்றியது, பற்றிக்கொண்டது என்பதாம்.
பற்று என்பது பேச்சில் பத்து எனவரும்.
விழுபற்று - விழுபத்து - விபத்து. றகர ஒலிகள் தகர ஒலிகளாய் ஆயின என்பது மட்டுமின்றி ழுகரமும் மறைந்த இடைக்குறைச்சொல்.
