Etymology of selected words

If "asthi" is interpreted as bone-like support, then vaaram has to be explained as well. This term (asthivaaram) does not occur in Sanskrit. The Skrt word for it is: "iSTakAnyAsa" m. laying the foundation of a house.
Bones "run" throughout the body, whereas asthivaaram is a structure confined to the base of a building.
