An English poem: Unfamiliar personalities

         These are personalities before,
        With whom I was not so familiar;
        You had taken much great pains indeed
        Inducting ideas well much costlier!
ma.
        For both great persons of yesteryears
        You would be the sole speech writer!
        Just friendly between or crossing spears
        None besides you would e'er be the wiser.

        Whatever be their doctrine or creed
        You may, dear, with all haste just proceed;
        Let me be the spectator indeed,
        And all good things my way I shall heed
